instabrick is compatible with the most popular browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla Firefox

We strongly suggest to use Chrome to get the best performaces

Safari is not yet supported

Build your Box

The first step to use Instabrick is to build the LEGO® Box.
No matter the color of the bricks you use to build it, what is important is:

  1. The Box must be 16 x 16 bricks
  2. The Box must be 11 bricks tall
  3. The box must be closed on 3 sides

Background

Your Instabrick Unit comes with a paper background. In case you need to replace it, please use the following

Official Instabrick paper: Canson Colorline 220gr color code 35

Alternative: Fabriano Colore 70x100 200gr Perla - 46303222

Registration

To create an Instabrick account you need to own an Instabrick unit.
In case you do not own an Instabrick unit you can get one by clicking on the "Purchase an Instabrick unit" button.
In case you own an Instabrick unit, go to app.instabrick.org and click on the "I own an Instabrick unit" button.
You will be redirected to the "Register your Instabrick account" page (app.instabrick.org/register).
Follow the instructions:

  1. Build your personal Instabrick box according to the instructions
  2. Place the Instabrick unit on top of the Instabrick box
  3. Plug the Instabrick unit into your PC
  4. Put the registration QR code into the box and click the "Scan your code" button
  5. If the QR code is valid, fill the form with a valid email address and choose your personal password
  6. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you put in the form. Click on the link provided in the email to confirm the account activation
  7. Congratulations! You are an Instabricker! ;)
Problems?

Pay attention to make sure the unit is properly connected to your PC. Once the unit is plugged in, check to make sure its LEDs are on. If not, double-check your unit's PC USB connection and make sure it is attached firmly.

Make sure you are able to access the Instabrick unit’s camera. The video stream is displayed on the left panel. This is what the camera is capturing.

In case the video stream is not the right one, you might have another active camera (integrated camera in laptop, other USB cam, ...). Click on the "Reload camera" button and choose the right camera on the dropdown menu “Select camera”. The camera choice will be automatically saved for next usage.

Log in

You can access the Instabrick platform anytime using your credentials on app.instabrick.org.
Insert your username (the email provided during the registration) and your password and click the "Log in" button.

Problems?

If you are not able to log in, you might have typed an incorrect username and/or password. In case you forgot your password, click on the "Forgot Password" button. You will be prompted to type your email address. An email with the instructions to reset your password will be sent to your registration email address.

FAQ

Why the Instabrick unit does not work?

  1. Check if the USB cable is connected to the computer
  2. Do not use a USB hub, plug the Box directly to the computer
  3. Try to use a different USB port on the computer

Why the Instabrick lights are on, but the camera does not work?

  1. Remove the cover from the lense
  2. Check if the camera was recognized by the system (e.g. on Microsoft Windows you can hear a sound)
  3. Check permissions for the camera on you browser: https://app.instabrick.org:443 must be allowed

My Instabrick does not work properly (Camera flickering)

  1. Do not use a USB hub, plug the Box directly to the computer
  2. Try to use a different USB port on the computer
  3. Try to change the cable with a different one, (smartphone charging cable is OK)
